Professor Jean Davignon is Director of the Hyperlipidemia and Atherosclerosis Research Group, the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal, a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine (University of Montreal), a Professor in the Department of Nutrition (University of Montreal), and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Experimental Medicine (McGill University). His research focuses on the characterization of hereditary hyperlipidemia, the atherogenic potential of plasma lipoprotein fractions, gene-gene and gene-environment interactions in the causation of the diseases, the pathogenesis of dyslipoproteinemia and atherosclerosis, the role of reverse cholesterol transport, the pharmacology of lipid-lowering agents and the nutritional aspects of cardiovascular diseases.
