Dr. Jean-Louis Junien

Dr. Jean-Louis Junien’s previous management career includes long experience in pharmaceutical industry. His most recent position was Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Fournier Pharma a member of the Solvay group. He was previously Chief Scientific Officer of Ferring Pharmaceuticals, a Scandinavian based company after being the Research Director of the Ferring Research Institutes in Southampton (UK) and La Jolla (US). From 1982 to 1992 he was Vice President Research & Development at Jouveinal laboratories, and then Vice President Research & Development Jouveinal - Warner-Lambert (1992-1995). Jean-Louis Junien has a Doctorate degree in pharmacy and holds postgraduate degrees in biology and pharmacology from the University and Medical School of Paris.

Expert in the field of nuclear receptors, he is a member of the scientific board of the LEEM (French equivalent of PhRMA). Jean-Louis Junien received the Galien Price for its research on opioids in 1992.
